reet.. we know that shane generally uses experiences from his own yoof to inform the films he makes... the period setting of the early eighties is clear in TIE.. in DMS we are offered a sort of return to the setting of his youth, ten or so years after it was over (with flashbacks to the past). so, we can look at that as a film set in the present day .... BUT, here is the question, what is the period in which t'other films are shot? do we watch them as if they are present day or back in the day? or are they simply timeless and applicable to most recent periods of history?
not sure this is terribly important, and i'm not sure me myself has an answer but if anyone does then....

I'd say timeless to a certain degree.... as in the stories are timeless, theres nothing in particular that would make them not possible to have happened in the past say, 30 years. But when you watch you assume its present day. I have a feeling there might be dates in 24/7 though.. in Darcy's diary maybe?

Also can we assume ARFRB is not in the 80's as then his tracksuit wouldn't have looked so bad?!
