Anyone heard of the PXL2000 camera? I hadn't until the other day when someone at work started going on about them. Basically they were a video camera released by Fisher-Price in the late 80's. Being Fisher-Price, they were obviously for kids, but they have apparently become sought after (well... since the early 90's infact) because they were only produced for 2 years, and the black and white footage they shoot has a unique look to it. However, the part I couldn't believe is that the camera recorded it's video on to regular audio cassettes! Crazy! Such a mad concept, I couldn't believe I had never heard about it before. They seemingly still fetch a high price on ebay and are often sold modded so that it is easy to capture the footage to a PC (the original design only had an RF aerial kind of output). Here's the cheeky little fella: Here's some choice cuts of PXL2000 on YouTube: Someone wandering around a cemetary, uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HbYz7ipKxVUSome woman or other in an arty style, uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bSu7NjC51Xs...and here's the wikipedia page if you're interested: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PXL2000

This looks ace! I got quite into toy camera stills photography for a while (Lomo, Holga, Diana all that stuff). Never got around to trying a film equivalent though, and certainly haven't heard of this. Looks like fun, although those Youtube vids are pretty creeeepy!
