Dave, any plans for a Dead Man's Shoes Blu Ray? Even more, what about a "This Is Shane Meadows" Blu Ray?

surely a 16mm film on blue rays pointless??? At first glance it seems that way, but for anyone who saw it in the cinema on a big screen, either digitally or as a 35mm print, the image is far better than any DVD could hope to display. The digital version we screened at work had almost exactly the same pixel count (resolution) as Blu-Ray and looked brilliant on a 19ft wide screen... so unless you have a TV exceeding that at home, it is going to look amazing.

It should be loads better on a good home cinema setup. I always hate it when it goes from glorious 2k High Definition to heavily compressed DVD. DVD was leaps and bounds better than VHS and while the jump from DVD to Blueray might not be so dramatic in a home setup, as dave says, when projected the difference is astounding. If i had a dvd already I prob wouldn't splash out on Blueray as my Mrs won't let me have a massive telly or projector but for those with a stupidly big telly....

Weird thing about 2K cinema projection is that the resolution is 2048x1080, whereas Blu-Ray is 1920x1080.
1920x1080 is a 16:9 ratio image, which is the format of 1.85:1 films when they move to DVD.
Is the 2K image 2048 in width because that is true 1.85:1, or is it some scam whereby they give the projectors the capability of 2048 just so they can say it is 2K (even though it is a useless width)?
I can't be bothered to do the maths.
Some swanky European countries already have 4K digital cinema projection which is 4096×2160. Show offs!

I let the dust gather on my tv screen and every few month I clean it and it's like having a brand spanking new tv. I'm a genius...
