Do the stories have to be set over five days? I know given a five day shoot it doesn't make much sense to span a story over several years because of costume and makeup changes, but I'm just wondering if the "five day" thing extends to the story. I've got a great idea for one that takes place over a couple of weeks, see!

It won't launch until next year (probably coincide with the launch of 'Le Donk') so don't post up any ideas yet, but I just thought I would put it in the ether, so people can start thinking about it. I wonder how it will work officially when the scheme is launched... The wording of Shane's message kind of implies that they will listen to anyone who has a legit idea that captures their imagination. Surely that will lead to a scary flood of half-baked ideas coming from all angles (with a few gems hidden in the flotsam). Surely there will be some kind of filtering process that will sort out the worth-while pitchers from the no talent chancers? ;D

No time restrictions. If you want to do one in real time in one shot or tackle the evolution of the solar system, the choice is yours. We don't judge here at 5 day features ;D

I have an idea about this guy, who is a geek. He spends most of his time on WOW (world of warcraft, a online videogame for anyone who doesn't know) But he longs for a REAL relationship. So he finds this girl through myspace, facebook or wow or whatever. But he can't go visit her, because he has a fear of travel. And theres a back story behind his fear... basically he missed out on something really big on WOW while he went on a delayed train journey. And ever since he's been unable to travel. It'd be made up of like an interview with him, clips of him and his daily life. Flashbacks, and future hopes. Thats my idea!

These ideas are all well and good.. but they sound like short films to me. Whereas my idea about a senior citizen WW2 veteran beating up an alien is part of rich canvas of scenes and ideas. ;D haha It is primarily on small scale and very domestic in it's setting, but it does feature a couple of extravagant moments which may not be do-able. hehe

So they've gotta be Feature-length? I probably should have guessed that from the title really! ha ha. How long do they need to be Shane?

I have got a story resum in 12 pages in english by an english firend, but I will try to explain it with less word. It's a science fiction story. It's happened in a word where all human known they had been created by Mekane, a sort of god machine that can sayed to each one what will be his futur. In fact, all human borns before that machine had been created, are dead and the other learned that Mekane made human, like we learned darwin! They can't imagine an other thing. But to control humanity, Mekane cut one hand to everybody and put a... I haven't got the word. But It put that, and it control minds. Of course, a human will born that Mekane will not test and that Human will try to killed Mekane and his protector Meho. It's seems to be hard like that, but there is not so much protagonnist, not so much places, and in that futur, human are not so much intelligent so technik is les important than our (no flying car! :-) ) Hmmm. Better to give you the english explaination, no?

Yes. Are you tall and skinny? That's the alien look isn't it? Just need a big head and big eyes. I believe they talk by making odd clicking sounds, a bit like dolphins. ;D

RyD, you should make that short now! I'd love to see it. I don't know anything about Warcraft but I'd imagine that wouldn't be necessary to enjoy it... We all get the idea about the big online game geeks. To get the details right, you should include someone in the writing process who knows their stuff about the game, so you could reference "real" big events that happened in it. Oh, and I want to be in it as the geek.

Need a funny online name for the character. You can play a good geek then?! Sounds good. I got another film i wanna make before this. But i'll get started on researching and writing. Not that i'm all that keen on all that stuff ha ha. I'd like a lot to be improvisation, you cool with that?

good excuse to get started on a script about the young boy who finds out that dinosaurs don't exist.... and finish off the one about the documentary maker who uses the holocaust as a vehicle for his own self-importance.. or maybe, i'll leave it to shane and co.. once took part in a 48hour filmmaking competition... very very hard work, and that was just for a short... what a brilliant project though, one of those ideas that makes you think, hmmm, i wonder why no one thought of that before
