Hiya, I've just got a new Mac, (quite new to the Mac world) and have also ordered FC Studio 2. Although that hasn't arrived yet, so I've uploaded some footage I wanted to duplicate to Imovie 08. Was quite shocked to see that there was no print to tape function on the new Imovie! I need to send the original tapes off today to the director but am abit worried about not having an original hard copy of them. I will have FCP 6 in the very near future and I'm assuming I'll be able to transfer my footage on my external hard drive into FCP and then print to tape from there...? Sorry its quite long winded, I hope someone here can help Thanks alot, Sam

Hello mate.
The new iMovie is so shit. That's mental how you can't transfer out to tape.
Anyway, it should be no problem. Do not export from iMovie and then import that from iMovie to Final cut. You should be able to find the original file using the finder. Just find the "Event" as they're now called, and there should be like a Mov file in there. Import that to final cut. Don't know if iMovie has changed the footage in anyway on the import.... it very possibly will have. But its likely that Final Cut will like the file, considering they're both the newest versions.
;D

Cheers Ryd,
I've uploaded them all through Imovie into my external hard drive, so I'll make sure I import them from the HDD into FCP 6.
Thanks aot - I'll let you know how it goes.
