quick question as regards to film festivals that are so often spoke of on here. just wondering as we have written some short films and are about to make them, and am enquiring as to where these film festivals are and how to submit them.
cheers in advance

Hey Shaun, I'm new to the festival thing myself, but i'm going through the process of submitting a short film to festivals via withoutabox.com at the moment, which is a really useful site. They have a huge list here (too many really); www.withoutabox.com/index.php?cmd=filmsubmission.allsubmissions&group_id=1Beyond that, there are tons of film festivals which cater to specific niches (student films, horror, women filmmakers, sci-fi, etc etc), which is worth bearing in mind if any of your scripts fit such categories, since they narrow the field a bit. I guess google around a bit and see what looks promising. I'm sure other people here with have more suggestions too. Hope that helps a bit anyway, all the best with the scripts. Ria

Hey Shaun, This is a really good site for Festivals across the world.... tells you how much each cost before you even go to the festival site too. www.britfilms.com/festivals/

thanks for the info guys. this really is the most helpful resource on the internet. i tell ye what ye should all be proud of yourselves, it brings a tear to my eye.
Ria - thanks for the info. stuff we're doing isn't really for them sort of fields. just sort of comedic (hopefully) look at people we know in the newcastle area. nothing groundbreaking or new like but deffo not sci-fi. though there's a few other worldly characters.
salv - that's great cheers bud, i'm checking it out.
gareth - expect an e mail soon mate, muchos grateful.
Shaun

A cheeky bit of advice - email the festival organisers before you send your films. Get a touch of dialogue going and find out what you can (without being pushy). You have to stand out in the festival curators mind...
