gotta go for This is England but if it was a desert island choice I'd go for Romeo Brass coz it's sort of like TIE and DMS rolled into one

I loved TIE, and 24-7 was good, but I've got a soft spot for 'Dead Man's Shoes' since it was my first.

Shit.. hate this question.... I said DMS in the last one. I really don't know now. It was TIE, but i need to watch all again to give them a fair hearing. I'll get back to you.

dead mans has much more of an impact on the viewer in my opinion followed by the nightmare that is the ending of romeo. I love all his films thought i aint much of a fan of midlands but dead mans has brought me to tears many times and i was actually shook up the first time i watched it. The subject matter is a little close to home but it is the relationship between anthony and his brother and paddys speach at the end that takes this to the top in my opinion.
look what you made me do.

In order:
1. Dead Mans Shoes. - a masterpeice. Chilling, intense revenge thriller with all Meadows usual hallamrks- local humour, great characters, soundtrack etc
2. smalltime. One of my favourite films, absoloutely hilarious. ace. any film that features dog food theft has to be a winner
3. Twentfourseven- emotional and brilliantly made. How good is the bit where Hoskins (whos amazing) takes his Aunt dancing
4. Romeo Brass- Fanatastic halfway through when Paddy's character flips out. brilliant dialogue/performances etc again
5. this is england- great but pretty similar story to romeo brass so his weakest for me, aprt from..
6. once upon a time in the midlands- a stinker. gutted for shane that his names on it really cos watching the film, you could never tell he directed it
