Heya,
My company and I are looking into investing in a decent HD camera for short film and music video/promo productions.
I like the idea of going for solid state, and the SXS cards seem to be a much better option (financially at least) than the P2 media cards.
The camera we've been recommended by many people is the Sony Ex1, although I was wondering if anyone on the forum had experience with this camera or knew anything more about it?
Thanks alot,
Sam.

Goes over some nice features.... which are "awesome" apparently. The related vids on that page seem to have plenty more about this cam.

I've worked on a film where the EX1 was the principal camera and it was good.
25FPS, good lens and build quality, obviously you will not to back up everything to hard drive as there is no tape function. Best used on a tripod as its heavy and if your budget allows use it with the 35mm DOF redrock adaptor for awesome results.
Also check out the EX3 as its shoulder mountable with changable lens.
