Also, just to also say, I don't think I've ever seen Gavin better than this. He was practically badgered by a couple in the crowd to play "Hard Sun" as a solo effort, which he did. And it really was quite fabulous. Ridiculously good rendition, it was! Also, For anyone that hasn't seen Gav live, you must! He is an indescribable talent who has been savagely overlooked in this country until very recently. How true this is. How very true. Good to meet you Thribb, thanks for taking the time to chat. You've got some great pictures again there! Saw you too Jude upstairs (nice hat ;D), but unfortunately with the underground's last trains situation had to leave pretty suddenly in order to avoid being stranded, otherwise would have come over to make awkward conversation about being on the internet Man, there was some serious cheering going on by the end of the gig, wasn't there?! Good times.

What a superb gig.The first time I've had a chance to see Gavin Clarke and the Clayhill set having been a big fan for years. The venue was a truly beautiful and apt setting in a working church, With mulled wine supplied in mugs as the only alcohol allowed in the chapel and tea light everywhere.
We were lucky enough to be in front row pews up close to the action (Bit too close for the screen but perfect for the music).
We were treated to several impromptu tracks by request/heckle from the audience. and were lucky enough to hear a sample track from the Le Donk soundtrack as well as a 'very Gavin' rendition of the Yuletide song 'Comfort and Joy'.
My girlfriend was moved to tears by Gavin's 'If this is Love' and 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want'
Not sure if anyone else was aware but the legendary film composer Michael Nyman (The Piano) was lurking at the back of the chapel to see Gavin et al do their thing.
Although it was all being filmed It's a shame Mr Meadows couldn't be there. I hope all is well with your feet Shane (?)
Gavin certainly is one of the great unknown talents this country has to offer.
Nice to meet RichK and Lord and Lady Thribb again and very nice to meet Jude and Brian this time around. Hope you all enjoyed London. Plus an unexpected appearance from Parry Benson and Elisa 'Remember I love you both the same' Lasowski.
Photo's to follow.
P.S we nicked Gav's 'Comfort and Joy' lyrics off the stage at the end as a memento. Fear not, I coughed up for a copy of Cuban Green and the Somers Town soundtrack too!

Fantastic evening, best gig I've ever been to, bar none. Really nice to meet everyone from the forum and sorry we had to rush off to get our tube. I've uploaded some pics into a new facebook album so if you aren't a friend of mine on fb then feel free to invite me. My partner Brian took them in order to let me enjoy the gig without having to take photos, which was nice of him. I've run out of time to put them on flickr, I'm meant to be cleaning the house from top to bottom today so I'm going to be scrubbering till midnight now! Will come back and post them on here as soon as I get some more time. Thribb, you got some great shots there mate! Not sure if anyone else was aware but the legendary film composer Michael Nyman (The Piano) was lurking at the back of the chapel to see Gavin et al do their thing. Good call He's a facebook friend of mine I'll let him know about the pics I've just uploaded.

Just thought a few people might be interested to know that I recorded 11, yes eleven songs from this gig on my humble Sony digital camera. The quality isn't great but I'm no Shane Meadows and the damn thing was balanced on my knee most of the time! I was in the third row from the front and sat in the middle so it could have been worse. Unfortunately because of limited storage space on the memory card I wasn't able to record all the tracks Gavin played, and I think I missed about 4 songs. All bar one of them (Hard Sun) have now been uploaded onto YouTube and can be found here: uk.youtube.com/user/GavinClarkLive Hard Sun will be uploaded after Christmas as I don't have it available to me right now - sorry. Enjoy! Phil

Truley Gutted i missed this gig (thanks Jude for lettin me know about it), Would have loved to have met you IRL Jo but never mind, another time! ps... no-one is aloud to have big hair only me, thank you! lol xxx To all: Many apologies that I haven't got my arse in gear and posted the pics that my OH took. I will try and post them tomorrow but if not - um, got a house full of teenagers all weekend - um - Monday. EDIT: btw for all of you who love Gavin's music, you may also like Jake Flowers. He's from the Midlands (Stoke I think) so some of you may know of him but atm he's still very much underground. I've seen him live and he's got it, no doubt about it., very talented and a lovely and modest bloke to boot. He's just posted a load of vids on YouTube of him sitting in his garden shed playing various numbers and I'm just going through them now, they're great. Just do a YouTube search for Jake Flowers Shack Sessions.
