Me and a small army of other men armed with Video Camera's will document Gav's gig at the amazing 'Union Chapel' in Islington this Saturday night as the final part of a documentary I have been making about Gavin over the last couple of years.
For anyone that has seen Gav live already, it will be quite unlike anything he has done to date as it is a collection of the songs he has written for my films dating right back to 1997. A lot of these tracks have never been performed live and many have never been released, so for fans of Gav's you should sell your granny to be there as it may be the only time these songs are ever heard/played in public.
For anyone that hasn't seen Gav live, you must! He is an indescribable talent who has been savagely overlooked in this country until very recently. Now (After 20 years of trying!) he is finally starting to get the recognition/gigs/backing he deserves, People can finally get to see what myself and his other loyal followers have been harping on about all these years when he plays at the Chapel on Saturday night.
The other small bonus is that if you are in the crowd, you may appear in this 'soon to be seen' documentary as this Gig should become the final scene in the film. So why not kill two birds with one stone and see one of Britains greatest undiscovered talents and be in a Shane Meadows film at the same time! Make sure you comb your hair though, as bushwigs will be removed in post.
Good luck Gav! X.

already posted this elsewhere... but its relevant here too!: Hey guys. I've made the facebook event Sadly... after much deliberation... and thought... (I almost bought tickets!) I wont be able to go to the gig. It's basically because my brother gets back on that date (I haven't seen him in a long time), and it is also my grandmother's birthday. I also have work all day saturday till 5, and then work sunday all day too. Bummer. But I'm happy having already seen Gavin after Somers Town earlier this year. Was lucky enough for that, also hopefully got Le Donk coming up! So I'm a lucky fella already. I'm sure there's someone more deserving who wants a ticket! I hope everyone who goes enjoys themselves, sorry I cant make it! Have a fantastic night! I'm sure you will!

I shall be there! Not that anyone knows what I look like. This night proves to be the icing on the cake of 2008, methinks.

Just got in from the gig, nice to see Gareth, Jude and the Thribbs! Also, just to also say, I don't think I've ever seen Gavin better than this. He was practically badgered by a couple in the crowd to play "Hard Sun" as a solo effort, which he did. And it really was quite fabulous. And the heartwarming warm up film was not too shabby either...
