After the filthy, sweary trailer that was leaked a while back, the official trailer is now out:
I love the shovelling of his body off the street at the beginning. ;D

I' gonna be watching Crank this coming sunday... on the big screen! Woo. How??? In a cinema? or a big telly? it really should be a film that goes round on a cult film circuit! Well, I hope you do enjoy it. Go for the ride.... and look out for interesting direction and camera ideas... I'm sure you will find more than you would expect.

Hey Davros, what did you think of the first Crank after your re-watch? I felt there was less non-stop action than I remembered, but there was actually more inventiveness than I remembered. Its an ace re view. Its like travelling somewhere, getting there takes ages (like watching the film the first time) although getting back (a re view) and the time flys. The computer game references are alot more noticable. I think the hospital scene is definitely still a favourite, and Linkin Park bloke is back in Crank 2, for some odd reason. Those posters are brilliant.

Damn this internet! Just found some production stills for Crank2 which have now ruined a surprise for me. I'm not sure how what I have seen will be incorporated into the film, but just knowing about it has ruined the surprise. Damn!

Saw Crank last night!!
And yes, it is awesome! So OTT it's amazing. My favoutie bits were the odd unnecessary editing... where a frame of someone he's talking to would appear on a wall... or in one case a wing mirror!!! Ha ha. Some great lines and awesome ideas for scenes. Really enjoyable watch. To compare it to Shoot 'Em Up.... I'd say I enjoyed that more. But I think they're very different. Anyway... its safe to say I'm looking forward to the sequel!! Bring it on!

Glad you liked it. But am I reading that correctly? You liked Shoot em Up more? It seems a shame that people have all these differing opinions! Shoot Em Up and Crank and two very different films in my opinion, no matter what I think of them. Do you see them as pretty much the same kind of film Ryd? I mean, Shoot Em Up is like the action film equivalent of a farce in comedy. It's stupid in an illogical way. Not that that means it is definitely bad, I just didn't think it worked. Crank really doesn't have the same farcical nature to its action and story. Even when it is ridiculous, it isn't farcical. Crank is like Buster Keaton hanging off a clock face. Shoot Em Up is like Benny Hill winking at the camera.

I completely agree with what you say. But yes, I stick with my opinion that I enjoyed Shoot 'Em Up more. I just found it more enjoyable! It worked for me. There really is some clever stuff in it. Really enjoyed wondering "how is he going to get out of this one?!" and the awesome one liners. Don't get me wrong, Crank is excellent. But in a very different way. I'll stick to my guns (ha ha!) untill I see both again. ;D

Crank is like Buster Keaton hanging off a clock face. Shoot Em Up is like Benny Hill winking at the camera. Haha very funny descriptions, i myself didnt like Shoot Em Up, thought it was just boring, not a big fan of Clive Owen to start with, seems a little one dimensional and plays the same in all his films, which made me fall asleep to it. Though i did like Children of Men though i dont think it was because of him, think the story and directing itself carried the film and not the actors. Crank is a top film, Jason Statham is more a mans man in his acting and always get your moneys worth with his films. Roll on Crank 2

I just don't think he works in action films. He always seems to be too much of a posho! haha He's like a poor man's James Bond.
