I dont expect too many people to understand this, but I want to tell a little story. I assume it was 97 or 98 but the first time I ever saw Shane was when he was interviewed on Big Breakfast about twentyfourseven. It was on at my local odeon so I went to see it with my girlfriend at the time. Silly though it sounds, it touched such a nerve that it blew me away. It was so close to home it was unreal. I cried. So a long time all i had to promote to my friends was twentyfourseven. They got bored of me after a while and I forgot about trying to promote it. Then, many years later, everyone fell in love with Dead Mans Shoes (completely missed romeo) and then everyone really wanted to know. All I can say is, Shane has touched my life for over 13 years. I think he deserves to be big but quite selfishly I don't want him to be. He's great where he is. But that's bollocks, go for it, Shane!!!! Just keep it real. If it wasn't for you there would not be Paddy (perhaps a little harsh, cos he's so good) and maybe there wouldn't be a James Corden. Still my favourite film of all time is twentyfourseven.
Anyway, I'm rambling. I just wanted everyone to know that you're work has had a massive influence on me and that will always be with me.
