Hello everyone!
The links section of this website has kind of fallen behind with all that is out there on the net regarding Mr Meadows.
I want ideas as to how the Links section should be organised.
I was thinking of somehow setting up a 'wiki'.... which is one of those things where everyone can add to it and keep it up to date (like wikipedia). The plus side would be that we will keep up with all the interviews and articles about Shane that keep cropping up all over the place. When you found a new link you could add it to the 'Links directory' yourself. The down side would of course be the ever-present internet merry-makers who would edit the 'Links Directory' so that it was misleading, full of swearing, or full of links to the Chuckle Brothers. Maybe it wouldn't work.
What kind of sections should the Links section have? I want to find a system that can contain a tonne of links, but at the same time, I want them to be in some kind of order that makes sense, not just one huge list of dis-organised links.
Thoughts?

Hi Dave, I'm not entirely sure how you would catalogue such things but thought that it may be interesting if you could have a few sections such as:-
- biographical (about Shane himself, his education, how he started etc) - TV adverts - music videos (collaboration with musicians)
Perhaps it would not be possible to categorise links in that way, just a thought.
Good luck.

I was kind of thinking along those lines Carolyn...
I think some kind of database would work best perhaps... but sadly I have no idea how to make one. A database would be good because you could tag links with more than one subject.... e.g. an article that is both an interview and about Dead Man's Shoes could have tags for both of these things. That way they would be found if you were looking for interviews or Dead Man's Shoes related articles.

just interviews in chronological order would be fine for me, with what film he was making or promoting down the side, maybe even in some sort of timeline, infact whatever info ends up goin on it a timeline would probably be the best way to organise it!

Yes.. a time-line would be a good move! Perhaps a collection of colour coded icons to show whether a link is an interview, an article, a link to a media file, etc.... with a key to the colour codes at the top of the page? Perhaps also with an abbreviation of a film title too if the link leads to info about a specific film (DMS, TIE, etc... also explained in a 'key' with the colour codes. Fans would recognise the film abbreviations immediately anyway I reckon). I do want the directory to be dense with a tonne of links, but also with quick reference methods of showing what a link contains (without having to have a description for every link) so that more can be wedged into a small space. For some reason I like the idea of seeing an over-whelming amount of links in as small a space as possible! haha Probably a dumb idea, but people will think "Blimey! loads of stuff! Hoorah" Just had a brief peek at some of the links curently listed, some are dead links now which is annoying, they lead to good articles too!

Dave I think the Wiki Idea is great..
And to get round the idiots issue, couldn't your trusted 'Spoiler Alerters' and yourself turn into 'Arsehole Alerters'? or just like approve each addition or something..
