Hello!

Archive.org have a nifty project called the Way Back Machine. It is basically an archive of the internet!

So, I searched to find the oldest entry for shanemeadows.tk (it used to be .tk because that was a free domain name).... and I found an old one! Back to the beginning of time in fact!

The page doesn't fully load properly, but all the text is there which is the most interesting thing anyway. The page contains the first nine news items ever to appear on the site. Scroll to the bottom for the oldest ones.

But that's not all!!

The way back machine also has an archive of the first forum entries too! It was a different, more crap forum then.

You can see Shane's initial discovery of the site on the forum there, and Richard Knight's first appearance (as you will see, we have Richard Knight to thank for letting Shane know about the site).

Other than Shane and Richard, I'm pretty sure that Ryd is the longest serving Meadows Maniac still on the site! Can't see a message from him on that early snapshot of the forum though, but I'm certain he was around almost at the beginning. Surely that deserves an award..... no idea who will give it to you though... or what it is.

.... and people say you can't see back far enough to see the beginning of time! Pah! ;D

Ahh! Gotta love a bit of nostalgia! Mental. Was only thinking the other day it'd be interesting to see the old site and forum now.

I remember the good old bright list of topics. My first thread was titled "Concept to Consumption" I believe. It'd belong in the education section now. Kept coming back to it to help my studies.. and thus the addiction started! I was using Dead Man Shoes for my Media Studies. I think I must have checked out the site not long after Shane visited my college. That was on 28 September 2004... when did you set up the site Dave?

I recognise some of those forum names. DeLarge has a thread there I see! Perhaps he posted before me? But that means I don't get the unknown prize!

Nice one Dave. You deserve the prize for setting this bloody thing up in the first place!

It is interesting to see this Dave, thanks. I noticed DeLarge but I imagine it is his brother who has the clothes company on myspace. Maybe DeLarge will clarify.
