Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how i could go about getting work expericance with Shanes art department? It looks like every production is one big happy family from what ive seen on dvd extras etc... but how do i get involved?  anyone got any ideas? ta! x |

Naughty sugarbeat! You shouldn't be greeting newcomers with spelling rudeness!
Welcome Loraa.... I have no idea how you can get work experience. If you're serious about it though, you shouldn't really worry about fixating on a Shane Meadows film. Just get involved with any art department you can. It's all experience.
There probably isn't anyone on this forum who wouldn't want to be involved in a Shane Meadows film, but I'm sure the last place Shane would look for crew would be on here.

I believe that Shane has met some of his actors through a Nottingham Workshop or something. Not sure what that is about. Perhaps try and find out. Also, perhaps there are similar things in your area. Also the universities seem to have film societies. Perhaps they may be worth approaching. Also there is always gumtree.com for looking at activities etc in your local area - you can post your own adverts as well which are free.

Maybe join Shooting People, you won't find work on a Shane Meadows film there but there are often shout outs for Art Dept. crew. Would be good to gain experience, and you never know what might lead you to work with people you have heard of.
