Welcome aboard, jimmy. Sorry I can't be of much help regarding auditions... As the screenplay is still in progress (last I heard), the film won't even be ready to start shooting for a long time -- sometime in 2010 at the VERY earliest, but more likely later than that. :-\

thanks for the reply i think KOTG could be the best meadows film yet, the casting opportunities are really exciting, actors like daniel day-lewis and gary stretch could be really interesting picks. where do you think shane will go from there?

I've actually read Bartley Gorman's memoir -- he sounds like he was a really cool guy that more people ought to know about... Paddy Considine is pretty well locked into the role of Bartley; he'd have to go through a fairly big physical transformation, but I'm sure he could pull it off. And I pictured Stephen Graham as Bartley's beloved brother Sam. I don't know who Gary Stretch could play, but I thought he was very good in DMS and I hope there's a part in KOTG for him; as for Daniel Day Lewis, I could imagine him in a cameo as Big Just (if he's willing to go blond).

I think it's just as much Considine's film as Meadows so he would have to play bartley. Everyone's said this but Paddy's accent in Romeo Brass is very Bartley-esque and apparently he can sound even more like him. the physical transformation would be even more incentive for Considine to play the role i'd imagine!
I'm a bit biased for actors who have come from a boxing background but gary stretch was very, very good in DMS. I need to read a bit more about Gorman, but he's from near where I live, and the Old clarence where he dislocated his shoulder and won is ten minutes walk from me, wish I'd been there that night!
