Shane before his time

Soz if this has been discussed before but dontcha think that Shane was 'before his time' in bringing out 24:7 and Romeo Brass? If he had brought them out now you would have the British movie establishment wetting themselves over them (to me, they are far superior to say Somers Town). Instead, they were pretty much unfairly ignored/criticized when they came out, with the only upshot being their cult following.
