Hi all, Sorry for not being on for a bit with an update. Been at the grindstone mixing, grading and fiddling with Le Donk, The Living Room and My Thailand Docco.
Seeing as it looks like being a potentially busy year once june arrives, I decided to try and finish off all my outstanding projects before it's too late!
Le Donk obviously had to be finished in time for Edinburgh Film Festival, but the Gavin Clarke and Thailand Documentary just needed finishing else they may never have got done the way things are panning out. Donk finished editing a while ago, but we had to beg borrow and steal a grade and mix as we have no money, so we have been doing it in drips and drabs at daft'o'clock all over london. The Living Room documentary was picture locked today and is running at about 45 mins. The documentary that I shot in thailand with my Grandfather is close to picture lock and is about 25 mins. Both will need a grade and mix, but I will do these myself on the Mac, so they should be ready for consumption fairly soon. Not sure what or how these will be seen yet but there is talk of a special night on Film4 in the autumn.
Phew... Now for the rest of the grapevine.
In short, the TIE series is being written in full now with the aim being to be ready to shoot from september onwards (though this can always change) which could see it hit screens from spring next year. Not quite fully Greenlit or official yet, but very promising stuff this, and looks set to be a storming Quadrilogy (4 x 1 hr's). The first part has been co-written by myself and an amazing young writer called Jack Thorn and even if I do say so myself, it reads pretty darn good baby, so fingers crossed, it could be a cracker
My next feature film project is looking likely to start writing in the winter. Still can't give too many details away at the mo, but it is moving along nicely and has really got my juices flowing. If I can pull it off, it could be one of the most frightening films ever, If I don't, people will think I'm a right arse.
King of the Gypsies has not been forgotten either. The legal bullcrap that knackered us up last year has now been sorted and I have a master plan to get another writer working on it for me whilst I'm doing the other film in the hope that It will speed things up once I finally get chance to have another crack at it.
So there it it, Loads going on. Plus I can tell all those who are aware of ChromeBaby's forthcoming Animated title sequence for 'Le Donk', that it is coming along amazingly well and could prove to be the 'icing on the donk' if he can finish in time!
Seacrest out.
