www.imdb.com/title/tt0967926/In development at the moment... so there's only info on IMDb Pro. Could it be a remake of Haneke's excellent Cache?! I don't know Scorsese too well, is this is sort of thing?

Ron Howard was attached to that when I last checked. Haneke said during press for the US funny games, that he was fine with it. As far as he's concerned he's told his version of Hidden and appreciates that other people might want to hear it from someone else, also the cash from selling the rights to a big studio helped his current The White Ribbon - so it's all good.
Scorsese likes his European cinema, probably a better choice than Howard. Wonder what happened with that...unless he's going to produce instead...

Scorses over Howard any day.
What's White Ribbon all about then? *Lazily avoids google search*

It's meant to be quite similar to Salo plot-wise. It's about a small community in rural Germany in the early 20th century, and how it may or may not be connected to the growing fascist movement.

I would be very, very surprised if Scorsese has anything to do with a remake of Cache. Firstly, he's got a lot of other projects on - big lengthy ones at that. Secondly, it's really not his M.O. Scorsese films are BIG. Cache couldn't be more tiny. There's very little anyone could do with Cache to make it pallatable to a mainstream audience and the audience it does have are quite happy to watch it in its original language. For me it would be up there with Gus Van Sant remaking Psycho in the bad remake idea stakes.
