Question - West Bridgford?

I emailed my brother today and told hime to go and watch This Is England on account of it being bloody brilliant and all. He replied with the following:

I will probably watch This is England although I don't approve of Meadows' chip-on-shoulder, Nottinghamian, anti-aspirational attitude as exemplified by the scene in Small Time where his protagonists from Sneinton rampage through the "posh area" (transparently meant to be West Bridgford) robbing the locals blind. This just reminded me that I had four bikes stolen by that kind of scum. Hilarious.

I haven't seen Small Time yet but I was wondering what you thought of his comment?
I don't think he's seen any other Meadows' films, so has probably judged your work on the one film he has seen. Lives in London now too so what does he know? Plus all his bikes were nicked by kids from Bridgford.

Sounds like he needs a touch of counselling. And for the record it's not West Bridgeford, It's Woodthorpe, so hopefully, he can start to rebuild his life and finally move on and watch one of my later works. (Dead Man's Shoes can be had for as little as a fiver! ;D)

I will pass on your advice to him.

He never got over the nicked bikes. It haunts his dreams every night. Nonetheless, not liking a film because of that is a bit stupid. I don't agree with Micheal Corleone's actions really, in fact he was bang out of order, but the Godfather is rather good.

I just bought 3 of your films for 15 quid! What a boon!
