I'm going now, because a friend won tickets. I only realised I could go this afternoon. I'm all in a fluster now. Got a job interview to contend with before allowing myself to get excited. ;D

Hi Kelpie .. I've got yet another Neuro Surgeon appointment. I'm sick to death of seeing the buggers.
After an op in 2007 I have been left with severe sciatic pain .. a glowing light on the horizon was a spinal cord stimulator which unfortunately isnt covered under our BUPA scheme. Sooooo .. last December I went to see a guy who referred me to another guy .. who I saw in April this year .. he still thinks I have a disc problem and referred me to yet another neuro surgeon and I had to wait till tomorrow for this flippin appointment! (It's at 2.30 but believe me, if I'm not in there for 3.30 I'm leaving!! I'm not going to miss tomorrow night for nothing!)
Good Luck with the interview and .. see you there !

Looking at train times, I might have to scoot off at 8:20pm tomorrow, or risk being stranded for hours at Manchester Piccadilly. Does anyone know roughly when they'd be showing the episode? I don't want to miss any of that.

I had a really good time! The way they decked it out as an 80's wedding in a working man's club was brilliant and all the actors they hired really made it. Also, there was a free bar - can you ask for much more? Well done to the people who organised it all. I saw quite a few of the actors walking past and they all looked amazing, but I didn't get a chance to speak to any of them. I really wanted to speak to Shane, but he was surrounded by lots of people and I was too shy. He really makes an effort with his fans though - he had time for everyone. The whole cast were great and I wish I could have stayed longer. I did manage to have a brief chat with Joe Gilgun on my way out, as he was having a smoke. He was lovely and gave me a hug. The episode was, of course, utterly fantastic. I loved every minute of it and can't wait to watch it again. What's to come looks even better! I'm so excited for it, but will say no more!

Oi .. you totally forgot to mention the prawn vol au vaunts and the pickled onion monster munch ... and the cheese and pineapple of sticks ! Awesome time .. Mike loved it, and gave me a huge kiss and thanked me for taking him .. and after 25 years of marriage, believe me, it's something you forget to do .. eee, it was like dating again it was! Hey ..and you never know .. you might see me in the next Shane Meadows as "women with sticks, walking in the background" as they caught me for filiming my thoughts on the night's event. I loved Shane's introduction .. he's such a lovely, humble guy .. and you can just tell he absolutely appreciates the response his work is getting. Meeting Tommo .. aww .. he' so lovely .. totally unaffected by everything ... As for TIE 86 .. First episode .. I laughed till I nearly wet myself (thanks to the Red Stripe) .. I cried .. I ooohed and ahhed .. and at snippets of future episodes, I thought, fucking hell .. BAFTA BAFTA is all I could think !! This Is England Party time ... next Tuesday .. BE THERE!

BAFTA's indeed. I think they sell extensions to trophy cabinets on Ebay. Someone's gonna need one. ;D
Sounded a blast. Any pix?

A great night. Loved the whole 80s wedding reception theme, the attention to detail was fantastic (anybody else spot the 80s movie posters outside screen 4?). Had chance to say a quick hello and get pics with Shane, Gadge & Trev. The 1st episode is quality and I'm looking forward seeing it again next week.
You're in for a treat people, enjoy.

I didn't take any pics because .. I dunno .. I just wanted to enjoy the event without interuption .. does that make sense? I've got it all in my head.
I'm really looking forward to Lol's character in the forthcoming episodes ... I absolutely love how the comedy and tragedy in Shane's films go hand in hand .. which is actually so true to life, but I don't think anyone has captured it to this effect before.

Sounds brilliant. really wanted to go. Thanks for the reports! No photos is sometimes good. When you feel you have to capture everything, the event can lose it's thrill.
