Hi all, I'm a new member to this forum (from Canada) and I really love Shane Meadows' work, especially This is England and Dead Man's Shoes. It's tough to find Shane Meadows' work over here, but I was lucky enough to watch This is England for the first time last year and it was absolutely brilliant. I look forward to buying This is England '86 on DVD whenever it is released because the characters in This is England were absolutely amazing and I just can't wait to find out what happened to Milky, as well as Combo. I had never seen Stephen Graham in anything else besides his American films, as well as Snatch (all minor appearances), but his performance in This is England really showed me how amazing of an actor the guy really is. To all the cast and crew of This is England, best of luck in your futures and I hope they are filled with success. - Brett (from Toronto, Canada)

Welcome Canadaeh!
Glad you're managing to get hold of the films at least.
Never been to Toronto, but Vancouver's one hell of a cool place (friendliest folks I've met anywhere in the world). You're not a fan of Trailer Park Boys by any chance? If you are, you'll be in good company here!

Yes, Trailer Park Boys is almost a religion amongst us teenagers here in Canada. Lahey and Randy did a stand-up comedy act in my college's campus pub just last year, which I attended! I love the Trailer Park Boys. It's nice to know that someone outside of North America has an interest in them. Thanks for the welcome, friend.
Cheers.

Both me and Dave are somewhat fanatical in our love for the guys. Shane is a fan and it's rumoured that Paddy Considine does a mean Bubbles impersonation-though I've never seen it. You were lucky to catch the roadshow. Hope Bubbles did Liquor and Whores ;D Edit: Whoops, just re-read your message and see it was Lahey and Randy, not the roadshow. In that case, hope Lahey did L&W

Ahoy Shit-liner! ;D
Welcome Brett. I love Trailer Park Boys!
We must have had a few Canadian visitors to the site, but the only person I recall from Canada on this forum said they were not fans of Trailer Park Boys! The shame!
Oh... the rumours of Paddy Considine's Bubbles impression are true. I've seen the impression performed to me in person. This was the first time I met Paddy, so I was doubly bewildered and dumbstruck.

hahaha Not too many can do a good Bubble's impression, and I can't see it coming from Richard in Dead Man's Shoes hahaha. And Jill, I've seen the 3 boys do their 'community service variety show', i forgot to mention that. Both shows were insanely funny, but there was nothing like Lahey singing our national anthem with a bottle of scotch whiskey in hand and big piss stains on his pants. Do they show the Trailer Park Boys on television in the UK? We get BBC over here and that's about it as far as British televsion goes. (always watch my Top Gear)

(always watch my Top Gear) It's shown on the paramount comedy channel over here (or was), so people with cable and satellite get it (which is probably the majority of the population these days, I think). Lahey is far and away the best drunk in the history of television-sublime!

Funny this is, I was told he doesn't even touch alcohol off-screen.

Funny this is, I was told he doesn't even touch alcohol off-screen. Yeah, I think that's true. In some of the extra features on the DVDs his daughter (who plays Sarah of course) mentions it. She also said that he likes to act completely drunk in real life sometimes, and she'll hear back from people the next day who'll say stuff like; "I saw your Dad last night, he was fucked" haha
