Just a bit of a poll, see what we all thought and maybe give Shane & Paddy something to consider maybe

voted maybe, if it were to happen it would have to be with new charactors i think, as romeo etc are older now and romeo for sure could beat the life out of morrell. so he wouldnt command so much fear as he did in the film.
id like to see morrell in a mental institution, i think thats a recipe for amazing comedy and shocking scenes just like T.I.E 86

How could you not want to see Morell again? what a superb movie character. Has both darkness and light and such a complex character. I can't see it happening though. It's almost romantic when a character rides off into the sun never to be seen again, leaving a legacy....Although, Combo came back!

Morell was almost a character in Vic and Bob's Catterick, wasn't he? But Paddy was doing another film at the time so they changed it.

Not really thinking with the same characters tbh, but would be a bit of a tie-in. Can't get enough of Paddy's characters

I went with "maybe" -- one one hand, I'd love to see how (or if) Morell has matured any in the past decade. But on the other hand, it's probably better that whatever became of him is, for now, left to the viewer's imagination.

You got there before me! ;D It would have been very interesting to have seen it. But now, no, don't bring the character back. He's borderline mentally-ill, and bringing that character back for laughs would be totally weird.

I voted 'no'. I'm with GR and Dave. Morell was a distinct version of a character type, the damaged working class male struggling to assert his masculinity in what his peers would deem an acceptable way. He belongs in ARFRB. Leave him there. As GR says, leave Morrell's whereabouts to our imaginations. The imagination is a powerful tool. Wondering what a fictional character is up to outside of the film we've seen him or her in enriches the viewing experience of a film I feel. A skilled director and story teller will know this and will know how much to show and how much to hide. Less is more.
The wanting is better than the having.
Leave them wanting more.
A watched pot never boils... Yeah? Yeah...

Morrell is probably my all time favorite character and ARFRB probably my all time favorite film. I've seen the film a silly amount of times and surprised the DVD still works. It was also my first ever Shane Meadows experience.
What Shane did with Morrell as a character was superb. The way you felt sorry for him, then hated him, then felt sorry for him again, then despised him. Never have I been made to change my mind about a character in a film so much.
Hmmmmm would I like to see him again, yes I would but I'd also have reservations on whether it would actually work.

Anyone who votes No is kidding themself. If there was Morell spin off show you'd be on it like white on rice.

Anyone who votes No is kidding themself. If there was Morell spin off show you'd be on it like white on rice. Maybe so! But even at that rate, I'd have pretty mixed feelings about it, depending on how the character is handled. If it were Morell trying to lead some sort of normal life but finding himself slipping back into old habits or whatever, I could see some humorous situations coming out of that; but if he's aged 10 years and hasn't changed at all, I think it would just be too sad and pathetic to be funny.

Here's a thought. Morell IS flip.... 1986 he was known as Flip and was the leader of a dodgy biker gang, ten years later, no friend's and living alone he's back to using his real name; Morell (known for flipping out) and coincidently bumps into Romeo and Knock knock trying to break up their fight. Who's with me?
