just thinking with the stuff we were on about great tv shows and all that if shane had ever thought of writing one. I was thinking a kind of small town english sopranos or something, with all the characters hes come up with in films and shorts im sure theres a classic series in there somewhere.

Head on over to the FUTURE page of this site, and scroll down, you will find a couple of entries about TV programmes that were/are in the pipeline.
The main one had/has the provisional title of 'Stretch' and was a sitcom to star Johnny Vegas. There are quite a few links on the page to look at regarding this project. It seemed that Paul Fraser was equally involved, and that improvisation workshops had been held with Johnny Vegas. Not sure what has happened to it though, perhaps Shane could let us know? A couple of the links regarding 'Stretch' are proper BBC press releases too, so it all looked quite promising (although they are pretty old ones).
The only other vague mention of a TV programme on the FUTURE page was some comment I found in an interview with Dave Spikey (Phoenix Nights, Dead Man Weds). Looked like it was going to be a spoof documentary about a football team.
It would be great if Shane could let us know what the fate of these TV programmes was/is!

a shane meadows tv show would be awesome! certainly more watchable than dinnerladies. after the success of shameless tv bosses could be more convinced to chuck money at something interesting. although they'll probably buy up some 'posh bonking' hbo series instead.
shane could turn DMS into a friends style sit com. Friends meet at a local cafe to discuss their latest murderous revenge rampage. paddy could play the 'crazy but funny' character who owns lots of hammers but we love him really....
