For all lovers of This is England, you might find my book 'Yeah Baby' interesting, this one's true though...
It's become quite a little cult, which i have been called in the past, Here's a little description in case you're interested;
I started writing the book for ‘Tony’, but when he died, it ended up being about me.
Really though, it’s a story of life and friendships in the 80′s & 90′s – Music ,drugs and trouble and a redemption, of sorts.
It’s set in a world that sometimes feels a long time ago and sometimes feels as though it’s all still going on somewhere, just round a corner. It’s almost as if i don’t look, it never went wrong and everyone’s still alive and happy, partying through some endless 80′s summer, forever. I like to think of it that way……….
Though it is indeed my story, from Great Brickhill to Leighton Buzzard, from Milton Keynes to London, to France and Spain and back again, what I have found since writing it, is that it could have been written about any number of young people’s lives, set anywhere in the UK in the 80′s. It’s a version of the people we were and of a far off time and place that we all lived in, once upon a time.
In any case, Yeah Baby seems to have got a lot of fans now, so whether you’ve read it, or are just interested, I hope you like it - I’d love to know what you think
