I just watched I.D. on DVD (for those who have not seen it its a great British film from about 1987 about an undercover cop who infultrates a gang of football hooligans and gets so absorbed in their world he becomes one of them).
Anyway there is a scene where the gang goes to the away fans end at a football match to start a fight. In the ensuing fracas one of the extras who gives the main character a good thumping is wearing exactly the same outfit that the boys encourage Morell to wear in A Room for Romeo Brass.
I wonder if this was intentional or a happy coincidence.

I can't shed any light on that, but thought I'd just butt in and say that I'm pretty sure that I.D. isn't as old as 1987.... more like 1994 or something I reckon. Could be wrong. Oh, hang on, this is what the IMDB is for (he thinks mid-message). .... just back from IMDB uk.imdb.com/title/tt0113375/1995! Thought it was round then. Not sorted the shell-suit issue though has it.

YEAH the DVD case actually says 1987, definitely mid-90's.
