rewatching romeo the other day i was struck by something i've thought before and i thought i'd see what others think, as we know romeo and knock knock is based on shane and andrew's childhood. the film is it seems by cars in the background extras fashions etc to be set in the present day but the vehicles of the main characters are very old (morrells Clubman, joe brass' camper van and there is another old car (which i don't recognise) outside knock knock's house when they come back from the seaside) it has always seemed to be to be a deliberate choice that when i watch the film makes me think of an earlier time they are the sort of cars that would have been around when shane was a kid, also knock knocks fashions in the opening scene seem period and when combined with message to you rudy bring the early 80's to mind it seems a great way to make a film seem period on a real tight budget but what do you all think?
