Hello, my name is Livia Trabucchi and actually I am a student at City University. I am attending a Master in Audiovisual Translation and for my dissertation I have to choose a movie in English never translated into my mother tongue and decide how to translate it. Being Italian, my country's translation preference is dubbing. I was looking for the adaptation into Italian of 'this is England' movie but unfortunately I did not find anything about it. Do you confirm it does not exist? I was thinking about making the dubbing adaptation into Italian of 'This is England' but for doing that I need the original script and the movie -'cause I have to dub it as well. I was wondering how could I obtain these materials even if I already have the movie on DVD. I hope Mr. Meadows will be able to read that and help me! Thanks a lot. Looking forward to hearing from you. Livia

Hi Livia,
Perhaps you don't need the script at all. Why not use the English subtitles that are on the UK DVD? It's pretty much the script line by line isn't it.
I'm not sure if an Italian dubbed version already exists.

Hello Dave,
I know the script is not necessary I could translate even directly from the movie or I could get it on Internet. The fact is that my tutor asked me to contact the distributor or production company to get authorizations for doing it considering it is a dissertation and I do not want to infringe any copyright. The problem is that I really don't know how to get these contacts and who is the most suitable person to contact.
Thank you very much!
Livia

I see that on the Italian Amazon site you can only get the German version of This Is England. Seems strange. It must have Italian subtitles at least I guess. I think Optimum Releasing deals with the distribution of the film throughout Europe: www.optimumreleasing.com/about.phpWarp Films are the production company, but I'm not sure how you can contact them. They have websites that are easy enough to find, but no obvious contact details.
