When can Region 1 audiences expect a DVD/blu release for '86?

Once again, hoping someone can shed some light on this, or knows who to contact. Yes, there are some Americans who really enjoy this series!

I don't know the answer to this one, but I thought I'd reply so that it doesn't look like you are being ignored! ;D
Are you sure you can't make your DVD player multi-region and then just buy the UK version?

I'd also intended to reply before Dave beat me to it. Justbrowsing, I've never actually tried to do the conversion (have a multi-region player), but I gather all you need is the make and model of your DVD player and a remote control. You can then download instructions on how to convert it from the 'net-apparently.

yeah as Jill says you just type in a code into your remote control like a cheat in a computer game

Thanks for the responses. Well, I ask because This is England was released on Region 1 DVD and blu-ray, and I'm actually more of a blu-ray guy myself, and I use a PS3 for that. So I figured because the original was released for Region 1, we could expect a Region 1 release for the followup...

There are quite a lot of Blu-ray discs that are region free these days, but after a cursory investigation into the TIE and TIE86 blu-rays, I think they are definitely Region B only. Annoying.

Here in Canada, there are almost no multi-region blu-ray players, unfortunately. I had to 'rent' (buy from store and then return after) a blu-ray drive for my computer, so I could rip the disc to my computer. I then put it on my PS3 hard drive to watch. A very annoying process, but it was worth it to see TIE and TIE '86 in their full glory! I really hope Region A is supported in the future, it would make life so much easier.
