Welcome to the forum Yorkshire Skinhead. How did you get into Shane's films? I think Dead Man's Shoes was the first film I watched on recommendation from a friend. I soon watched Room For Romeo Brass and of course I was interested in This Is England. My nephew's dear lady runs a small cinema in Armley Mills Industrial Museum once a month called Miniciné and they showed Where's The Money Ronnie a month or so back. I have a general interest in film but I'm not a total Shane Meadows groupie (i.e., I couldn't say I've seen all his films). I did a graphic design degree which included elements of film and animation and I have always liked socio-realist style films especially Ken Loach type films (being as Kes was filmed at my secondary school and David 'Dai' Bradley lived two streets away - that's one of my faves!)

Kes is a timeless classic. Re-watched it a few months back and enjoyed it all over again. 24/7 next I'd say

I'm on Facebook group for the school I was at (The Kes school). It closed its doors just before christmas and the ex-pupils were talking of trying to get a tour before they finally bulldoze it and build some Bellway homes on the site.
