Well, The shoot is in the history books and we have set sail on the edit. Jeez we shot some footage in those four weeks. There's almost enough for 3 hours judging by the way the first hour of edited material has panned out. I'm going to talk to C4 about getting some more shoot/edit time etc in the hope that it can morph into a 3 parter split over 3 consecutive nights. If that doesn't come off, we will have a killer 2hr spesh, but quite how I'll get it all in to that is beyond me at the minute.
I will keep you updated....

Three! Three! Great news. A bit frustrated that we'll have to wait a good while to see it-though hopefully before Xmas if it gets a cinema release too. Exciting either way. Congratulations

Nice update! How does the potential three parter effect the planned theatrical release? Any chance of a little pic of the edit suite? I know we all enjoyed seeing such fun when you sent one from the edit of This Is England!

Surely a three parter gives ch4 more bang for their buck so their bound to give you more time!!
Was everything shot on Red?, any 5Dmk2's involved!?

We shot on 2 red cameras and used my Sony F3 on quite a lot of scenes. So three cameras at times, hence the potential for the 3 hrs! Reds look great on the screen but cacking hell they are a pain in the arse. Overheating, crashes aplenty and corrupted files. My Sony never skipped a beat baby!!!!

Great update! Its a tough question, would be great to have 3 eps, but I'd really like to see a theatrical release.

Dying to get one of these large chip camcorders like the F3 but theres just no way I can afford one.

I like the idea of a theatrical release, but also of three eps.
I suppose it depends just what the extra material is. Whether it's stuff that could be cut to make a really tight film, or if it would really be missed and you'd get more emotional resonance by keeping it.
I'd sit in a cinema to watch a three hour TIE'88 anyway. ;D

Seems like someone is being Shane on Facebook. Copying and pasting Shane's comments from here to a This Is England '88 Facebook page: www.facebook.com/pages/This-is-England-88/198922173451169Anyone want to inform all the followers of that page that it isn't Shane and it's just info copied from here (which is where they should be if they want the latest! hehe). I would do it, but I'm not on Facebook. I'm not fussed about the news being copied at all, but many people on there seem to be under the impression that Shane is running that Facebook page, and the person who is actually doing it is not letting on that it isn't.

Sorry Dave I'm running that page, wasn't intending to pretend to be Shane I just did it quickly on my break, didn't even read it back, in hindsight it should have had quote marks and a link to the forum. The title of the post was intended to mean it was a quote. looking back at the way the post comes across yeah it looks a bit strange, but I assure you that's just because I did it in a rush and not because I'm attempting to kidnap Shane, steal his identity one social network at a time and direct TIE 90 myself. To be honest the only reason I started the page was because I was sick of the 86 page filling my wall with stuff unrelated to the series, getting 'Ghost Town' to number one seemed more important to the person running it than the actual series.
