Ah! Mystery solved! No worries. I just found out about it because someone linked to it on Twitter saying that Shane has just posted on Facebook.
Carry on as you were, but it would be good to put people straight on that page that you are just passing on the news. ;D

Sounding a bit snide there Gareth, I started that TIE'86 page and busted my hump for months putting info and links on it because I was a big fan of the film and subsequently the series. I linked different music to it because I thought it was the perfect opportunity to show people a bit more of Skinhead culture, even Mod and Soul. The reason for the Ghost Town thing was because it was 30 years after the original got to No.1, we had another Royal wedding, Tory government in, things seemed to all be coming round again even the riots unfortunately. I thought the more young people exposed to good music and British culture the better as it might get folk into it. There was no fresh news on the series but I have tried to link any that has come about and put links up for here because it gives you a real insight and lets you speak to other fans and people that actually have something to do with it. Like I said, I'm just a fan (bit of a geek too) but I trawled through FB adding folk from all over the world to help spread the message as This is England was felt by people in many countries. I have always put that it was unofficial and none of the views were from real TIE people and I often put the link out for the Official TIE'86 page in case folk were unsure and incase they didn't want the links I posted.

Fair dinkum skinduff, thanks for coming along here and setting the record straight - would have been great to get Ghost Town to number 1. Perhaps another push when the economy really goes down the swanny about January next year by my mathematical calculations.. ;D

I stand by what I said whether it sounds snide of whatever I said it to you a few times on facebook and we talked about it back then on there and you took my point. My point of view is imagine if everyone running these groups started posting this that and the other, these things should be kept on topic otherwise people start leaving the group, its fair enough having single posts about semi related stuff but IMO there shouldn't have been multiple posts about getting ghost town to number one, it was that long ago I can hardly remember but I'm sure you did post a hell of a lot of ghost town number one posts Other than that I've nothing against what your doing and you only did it for positive reasons, your putting time and effort into promoting the series so good on you

and now I see this on your group for 53,000 TIE fans to read; "Nothing to do with TIE '86 so I know at least one person this will piss off but I'm trying to get rid of my old car so get this shared especially if you live in Scotland If this post annoys you I don't care x" but seriously man look at your page its actually hard to find a post directly relating to TIE in amongst all the other stuff including; the inbetweeners movie, DJ Pork Chops kirsty gallacher being on tele I'm the Seal that killed Osama Bin Laden, LOL "I can't wait 'til Kate Middleton's a stamp so I can lick the back of her ;D Buju Banton jailed for 10 years and every single song that springs into your mind I have no problem personally, I left the group long ago to avoid all the unrelated stuff clogging up my facebook but if your going to start a group about something then you should probably mention the thing the groups about every say 10 posts or so www.facebook.com/pages/This-is-England-86/138450079499921

If you don't like it you don't have to read it or as you did you can leave the page. Why go back on to research just to be snide, that post was clearly tongue in cheek! Posted a few stupid things folk might have found amusing...shoot me! As I said before I think the music posted can be related to TIE'86 or other sub cultures that might appeal, that DJ Pork chops is a young lad about 19/20 that has a good knowledge of skinhead reggae and has free pod casts, that would appeal to alot on there and it was a nice opportunity to support someone that wasn't just following what folk like simon cowell fire out every other week. I also put out links for competitions for stuff like Brutus and Trojan, absolutly no benefit to me I just though it would appeal to alot on the page. Again as I said I posted links to the official TIE'86 page I would expect only TIE stuff on there but if I joined an unofficial page I would expect some other stuff and appreciate if someone flung on a few tunes that got me into someone I hadn't heard before. I'm not having a go personally because I do see what you are saying I just came on here because it looked like you were pointing your finger at me with stuff about your own page. To quote every episode of Jeremy Kyle ever though "at the end of the day" we are both just fans of TIE and how its progressed so lets have a cuddle and not care its only FB. PS I hope Kel is in '88 alot because she's a wee cracker!

The reason I never checked it out was because I was all dinosaured up and when I saw it wasn't an actual dinosaur film I took the huff
