Well Hello there guyz!
What a bloody night that was (tv baftas), That was the best result ever! It felt at least as good as winning one seeing Vicky up there on sunday night. Welcome to the BAFTA crew Dicky, weird handshakes, even weirder milkshakes are all part and parcel of this most exclusive society. Same goes to Lauren Socha, Crack open the Diamond White, East Mids smashed it baby!
I was obviously a bit gutted for Jonny Harris but he took it very well, having pictures taken with his fellow non winners, talking to the winner with genuine delight, I don't know how he does it to be honest but I am a famously bad loser.
Well it is looking more and more like we have 3hrs of television on our hands here in 1988. I still can't get my head around how we managed to get all that done in four five day weeks but that's where we're heading baby. We will have some new scenes to pickup but we are in great shape in the edit already so it should be a christmas to remember for TIE fans.
I am still aiming to create a one off piece (they call them 'films' i think) for cinema screenings (though it would be my longest film to date), and film festivals etc so there will hopefully still be a chance to see it on the big screen.
The other bit of news is that my Son Arty, makes a cameo appearance in the final Episode, so keep em peeled. He takes after his mum in the looks department though so don't lookout for bushy eyebrows as it will lead you up the wrongest of pathways.
Muchos Love.
InShania.
Xxx.

So, there's a baby? Mmm intriguing...

Ooo! We always like an update!
Three hours of This Is England '88 in the cinema would be a big turn-on for fans I reckon!
Interesting as you say Jill, although Shane says to keep your eyes peeled, so I'm guessing that Arty is currently more of a background artiste. ;D

Yeah with six months to go, it probably is way too early to be stoking up the speculation (Trudy and Clarke??) ;D Come to think of it Little Arty isn't a 'baby' anymore either

Ta for the update.
I think Mr Meadows does pees into Carsington Water. That's why there's so much film type talent in the East Midlands!
A film dynasty is born. Stay down Douglas's. Back off Bridges's's. ;D

Carsington Water is what's known as a river regulating reservoir - there is no direct water supply taken from it, it is used to maintain the flow of the River Derwent downstream towards Derby. Any urine or other waste matter in the reservoir would be even more massively diluted once mixed with the river water coming from further upstream. Good theory though ;D ;D ;D Ps, yes I know I should get out more...

Another awards show last night for TIE86... The Yorkshire Royal Television Awards.... but sadly no prize this time. But one thing that did come out of it is photographic proof of the existence of Optimus-Meadows. Robotic directorbot! Has the real Meadows been replaced by a metal faced imposter?! Yeah doesn't work unless you use the Google trick! hehe
But before I explain that, I must say that it is quite spoilerish isn't it... just the concept that is revealed I mean. So be very warned!
If you don't want any This Is England 88 *SPOILERS* then don't do the following: That's some awkward double-negative going on there.. but you know what I mean.
Search the following on Google: C4 to strip This is England follow-up
Then click on the top link... you can then see whole article.

Yeah, if it's true then it reveals more than I'd have expected.

Ey up me Ducks!
I havent posted on here in ages. And i mean AGES!
Glad to see this wonderful site and forum is going as strong as ever Dave. Excellent. Im still addicted to all that the man, the legend and (sadly) the magpie Meadows is creating with his trademark midlands genius.
If anyone is interested TIE86 finally screened in Australia (the usual 2 years after the rest of the world gets everything) with the last episode screening last night on the SBS Channel.
I have to say though: Brilliant
I'll say it again: F***ING BRILLIANT!
Got some decent reviews in the press too. To see TV of such quality on Aussie screens is indeed a rare beast!
Glad to see its getting all these much deserved awards. Congrats to all involved and the superb cast.
Hope you dont mind me posting on this thread, wasnt sure where else to write this!
Muchos love

Yeah, the Australian reviews have been blinding for 86. I'm pretty sure you wont have so long to wait for 88.
