remember being a visitor on this site just before made in england came out and posted a few threads regarding shane's work - i'm the author of 'casuals' and do freelance stuff and edit my own webzine (who doesn't?) Swine Magazine - i did a piece on TIE 86 which wasn't very complimentary that was also used by sabotage times and created a bit of a stir on their forum - here's a link

this was put up before TIE86 was screened based entirely upon the trailers and I must admit that I was disappointed by the series (so what?) - i'm glad vicky mc received a Bafta as she was by far the best thing in it - her eyes alone are worth an oscar! I work with ex-addicts in liverpool and we have drama and a writing groups who we try to inspire by showing Romeo Brass and other films they relate to easier than say, The King's fucking Dick. On the whole I'm an admirer of Shane's work and his working methods - it'd be great to see his example being followed by other directors so we can finally escape from the tyrrany of luvvies and well meaning condescending liberals.
