Hello, I'm Joshua. From Australia.
The first Meadows film I watched was This Is England after being told by a "VideoEZY" magazine that I should watch it if I enjoyed American History X.
So I went into it expecting "British History X" or "Romper Stomper UK" and after my first viewing, I didn't really think all that much of it. A couple of months later I chucked it on again and seen a totally different movie and really started to notice things in film in general.
It wasn't until I viewed a couple of Shane's other films that I really noticed something different. The organic feel, the human aspect, the flowing dialog, the tension, the great and happy times that make you want to jump into the TV and be a part of the fun and the horrible and dark times that make you want to turn off the TV and go lay down.
Those are the type of feelings that make a fan out of me. They are movie with meaning and emotion.
I am currently super hyped up for '88. Even though I'll have to download it and then buy the DVDs from England as I did with '86 (which has just been released on DVD in Australia).
So I look forward to chatting with you guys in the future.

G'Day mate ;D Glad to have you here. Nice post. I think the 'meaning and emotion' just about sums up what everybody here loves about Shane's films. Personal too-stories that come from a personal place, but everybody relates to. Feel free to post on the other films you've seen.... and anything else How soon can you download the TV shows after they've aired in the UK?

How soon can you download the TV shows after they've aired in the UK? No idea, I don't normally download TV shows or movies, but I'd hope someone will put them online as soon as possible.
