Locations ?

Hi folks,
Complete noob here.

Just watched TIE '88 back to back.
As usual, some great dialogue with highs & lows.
I'm from Nottingham (now in Cornwall) & try to spot as many locations as I can - but was completely stumped this time (probably the same with '86).

Once upon a time in the Midlands had an easy shot, as it went righ past my old home.

I'm going to enjoy going through this site over the next few days & hope to post more then.

You may be getting rather stumped trying to work out the locations because I think it was all shot in Sheffield.

Richard Knight who is the location manager often visits this forum, so you may get a few pointers from him if you stick around.

The Christmas dinner scene in TIE'88 was filmed in the "Earl Marshall" on East Bank Road, Sheffield S2 3PZ

I've just realised that there are a couple of Shanes films out there that I havn't heard of. I'll wait to see if Santa brings 'em for me !?

Is there a full list of his stuff anywhere ?

Is Meadows Shanes real name ? Or was he born down the medders ?
Is the Meadows still there ? I know it's all been built over, but don't know if the area is still called that.
