The time has finally arrived. I am sick of having all of my shorts sat in plastic storage boxes on multiple fading tape formats, some unfinished, some not even started.
I am finally going to archive them (or finish them then archive them) with the help of my editor and get them all into one place then have a ceremonial burning of all the old tapes at the end so noone can fiddle with them when I die.
It will actually be really nice to finally count them, finally finish them and watch some of them again. There are alot of tapes on alot of formats so my editor will be a busy boy both in the edit suite and on eBay looking for old edit machines but he's been watching Cadfael all Xmas so he deserves some hard time in my labour camp.
I may post a list of machines we need in case any of you guys have one or access to one that we could borrow, hire or buy.
Also maybe a small competition is in order to see who can guess the final total as I have no idea myself it could be 40 or a 140. Some are only sketches, some are little holiday videos where me and Fraser were writing or me and Shimy were in New York but most are in the 5-15 min range classic short format.
I will include some double versions of the same film as they are different enough and are historically important to moi. Where's the Money Ronnie 3 (the one everyone knows) had a extra 5 minute colour end section and totally different (but unclear able) music and Willy Gumbo and The Man with no Name have two very different versions. Both have a nice polished 10 min version and both have a much less refined extended version with tons more footage in them that are actually worth watching in their own rights.
So basically what I am saying is that it is a collection of what I deem to be my collection rather than what the BFI would. But nothing will be added unless its important.
Let the Guessing begin....
