Someone called damianclaytonbull on YouTube has just uploaded a right rare find! It is a collection of short spoof ads (like pre-cursors to the ones found in Shane's World) made at Nottingham Intermedia where Shane started his film-making journey.
The video is a bit cropped (the old 4:3 has been zoomed in to fill the 16:9 widescreen on YouTube), but beggars can't be choosers! A rarer find you are unlikely to uncover again!
damianclaytonbull has added the following description to the video: Some ads made with Shane Meadows back in the 90s. I made these with Shane at Intermedia in Nottingham when on work experience for 2 weeks for my Video Production course at uni. Shane was a volunteer there from memory....very funny guy, never stopped writing scripts, make short films....generally a video/film addict.
Enjoy!

WOW! Brilliant. These must predate Small Time then. Great to see them.
I hope you've grabbed copies, Dave, just in case they disappear.

EVEN I DON'T HAVE SOME OF THESE!!!!! 1994 if I'm not mistaken!!
Some wallybrain taped over the first two (Shitall Builders & Chatty Chat) ads I did back in the Mid 90's. If I recollect rightly, the lad who put them up on youtube worked alongside me for Graham Forde (The head of all things technical at Intermedia and the Man that got me started) back in 95 when Intermedia had just got some lottery funding to build a studio.
Graham let me loose in there with a camera and some mates and me and Damian spent the day shooting them and editing them. The Ads were only made as fillers to go in between my short films at a screening but I was gutted when 2 got lost, so to see them alive and well is ace.
If your reading this Damian, I would love to pull a copy of the Original for my Archives as they are the only things in the world that I don't have and I am (weirdly) in the process at the moment of getting all my old work together.

Ha! Great to see these. Fantastic that they have survived. I hope you manage to get hold of copies of them for the archive Shane. Well spotted Dave!
