EDITING SOFTWARE TO START WITH?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a decent video editing software package? I don't mind paying, but only need something basic. It needs to run on Windows 8.

I've got Windows Live Movie Maker but it's just about useless.

Hi, I would recommend Adobe Premiere Elements to start out with. It's a scaled down version of its bigger brother, Adobe Premiere Pro, but still offers powerful tools that are definitely a step up from the built in software on Windows.

When you're ready you can step up to the professional Premiere Pro package.

There is this free software called Lightworks, but nobody on here could make any sense of it to be honest, so it's definitely not something for someone just starting out... unless you have the patience of a saint!
