Yep. Just like a bad penny. But in a good way.
My top films in the reverse order in which I saw them.
Sightseers
Celebration Day
The Passion Of Joan Arc – 1928
Nosferatu – 1922
Dark Star – 1974
The Master
The Cabin In The Woods
Tabu
Ai Wei Wei: Never Sorry
Chronicle
The Bill Douglas Trilogy: My Childhood – 1972 My Ain Folk – 1973 My Way Home – 1978
Dark Horse
Killer Joe
The Muppets
London 2012 Festival Films What If Swimmer The Odyssey
Passport To Pimlico – 1948
The House Of Mirth – 2000
Moonrise Kingdom
Marley
Thrown
Headhunters
Le Havre
Once Upon A Time In Anatolia
Fritz Lang's M – 1931
Tatsumi
The Artist
Interestingly, for me anyway, I saw more silent films this year than I can remember including two new films that harked back to the silent era, The Artist and Tabu. The former being probably my top film of 2012.

Thanks for mentioning Thrown Chrome! That rhymed. Kind of. How lovely of you. If anyone else on this forum wants to see it, send me an email. All the info and a clip can be found here: rydcook.com/work_thrown.htmI usually go through all of my posts in the "Last movie you saw" thread for this. But this time I'm gonna just list the ones that spring to mind, as obviously they'll be the best ones for staying in my memory. Beasts of the Southern Wild Amour Killer Joe Celebration Day (meaning the Led Zep show, did you mean this too Chrome? Not really a film...) Gremlins The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Bruised brokebutmakingfilms.wordpress.com/2012/05/13/bruised-2012/London 2012 Festival Films Swimmer The Odyssey Lawless Andy Needs His Milk www.projecttrident.com/videos/andyNeedsHisMilk/Shooting Freetown www.shootingfreetown.co.uk/pages/screenings-22208Gone Curling Dark Knight Rises ParaNorman HeadHunters Cafe De Flore The Kid With a Bike Once Upon a Time in Anatolia Le Havre Looper Untouchable The Shining Sleep Tight Samsara Electrick Children

No Celebration Day wasn't technically a film film but my tiny mind has categorised it as one so it made the list! Yep I really enjoyed Thrown so it made the list too. ;D You two working on owt else together? For whatever reason Samsara wasn't shown in my 'hood' which is a shame as I'd love to have seen it on the big screen.

More of a Cinematic Experience of the year! Yes we are. There'll definitely be a brand new film involving a beach and Pirates in 2013! Samsara is a must for the big screen. Shot on 70mm. I want to see it Projected in 70mm! The opportunity may come... thats assuming that 70mm prints exist! They must do right? Add The Avengers Assemble to my list! A mighty blockbuster. ;D

2012's been a bit of a rubbish year for me-so much work on, I've hardly seen, read, listen to or done anything Here's my list of things I saw for the first time this year that I think are worth seeing, in some kind of order. Winter's Bone The Beat My Heart Skipped Headhunters Dark Horse Sightseers Donkeys The Angel's Share Elite Squad Drive The Artist Shadow Dancer The Green Butchers Hugo The Dark Knight Rises Inside Job (Documentary, but still worth a mention).

I haven't actually seen much new stuff this year.
Of the five I've seen from 2012, I would rank them: 1. Les Miserables 2. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 3. Frankenweenie 4. The Dark Knight Rises 5. Dark Shadows
As for holdovers from 2011, I especially liked: 1. Tyrannosaur 2. The Tree of Life 3. The Artist 4. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy 5. The Lincoln Lawyer
