Are you drunk again Chewbaxter? After quite a few failed attempts to find a backer to fund a re-edit/re-score of Midlands, I think I have finally found a partner to help me get my directors cut out there. It may also be my first release on Blue-Ray. After the incredible job Gavin Clarke and his team did on the Score for 'Somers Town', I would love to team up again for the Midlands Redux. Ted Barnes, who was a key musician on the Somers Town soundtrack was actually my original choice to score Midlands, so there is a genuine feeling that we are going to finish off what we started and finally make the film feel like part of the family. It's gonna be quite a year on the release front if the gods are with us. Smalltime (DVD), Somers Town (Multi Platform), Le Donk (Multi Platform) and OUATITM (DVD+BLU-RAY) could all hit the stores in 2008 which would be quite a year by anyones standards. You even replied to the thread yourself!.... shanemeadows.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=midlands&action=display&thread=1202881209Nice release date find though.

I suspect this is just a reissue of the previous dvd the cat number listed is F4DVD90083 this follows on from a batch of other Film Four recent reissues including Sexy Beast, Blue Juice. Although id love to be proved wrong i doubt Shane has had chance to revisit OUATITM just yet being so busy with Somers Town and partying at award ceremonys.

Drunk?
lol, I don't drink me pal... but thinking about it - perhaps I should start.
I wondered if it might just be a 're-release' as HMV Lee comments re: the re-releases, I wondered if it might be the same thing... I know they've done 'Gangster No. 1' again - they would after I bought it off eBay!
That's the trouble with play - very often they give feck all info until the last minute - I'll keep watching that there page for any updates then.

I thought it was a bit too soon to be a full on director's cut release. I hope we're wrong though. Fingers crossed!

Definitely a re-release; all the Film Four titles previously released through VCi were deleted and are slowly being rereleased on 4DVD.
