I think cause Shane hasn't released a full length film in god knows how long, love the TIE series but come on Shane we need a film soon, doesn't help. Plus how many more threads can you really go over his films without repeating yourself. I only joined here recently but I used to be a bit of a lurker and it was certainly more busier then this. When was the last time Shane was on here?
Plus maybe people got girlfriends, got married, got Jobs, had kids etc. The usual day to day things and simply haven't got the time to be on here. God knows really, but it's scary how quiet it's got.

I agree the lack of a Meadows film is way too long coming. I'm not a Stone Roses fan so that wasn't for me. I enjoyed TIE 86/89 and look forward to TIE 90but we need to see a film. Surely Shane must have backers financially to get one off the ground as he's been successful. I myself stayed away for quite a while as there never seemed to be much going on.

I love the Stone Roses and enjoyed the film but it wasn't the band stuff I loved but the fan's who stole the show. I liked TIE 86 more so then 89, apart from LOL's stuff I wasn't blown away by it. Well it seems that True Story about the Cyclist, should be his next project after TIE 90. But you look at a British Director like Ben Wheatley, who knocks out films of top quality every year for the past four years. Down Terrace, Kill List, Sightseers and A Field in England all in a five year period, now that's pretty scary. He's now doing High Rise with Tom Hiddleston and A comedy with Johnny Vegas this year, that's amazing. It makes Shane look like Terrence Malick  .
Yeah it seems its either yourself or Dave on here. I'm sure it pick up once the release of TIE 90 is around the corner.

I watched the Stone Roses doc on Channel 4 the other week (wouldn't have bothered if Shane had not been involved) and have to say I really enjoyed it a nice insight into a band I didn't really know. My highlight was the final fifteen minute set, nicely filmed.

I too was more interested in it as a Shane fan, but I also happen to like the Roses' music very much -- loved the final performance (including "Fools Gold" in its entirety!), and the rehearsal footage made me giddy. |

Wow still so quiet around here. I have a look now and again but there's no one about. I guess the age of Facebook has taken over. This place used to be bursting with people and discussion. Shane get us a film made please.....
