Orate,
Just wondering whats the rules about Kickstarter campaigns on the forum? The films been written by Nottingham's very own critically acclaimed author/lecturer Nicola Monaghan.. I am filming the interviews on friday and due to go live next week!!! Just dont want to post it and get a clip around the earhole! 8v)

It's a bit irksome when people use the forum solely to publicise or self-publicise events/films and so on, but if you think this is something that Meadows fans will be interested in, I don't see a problem.

I'd say that Ash's work is "Meadowsian" in all the best and most appropriate ways. He's also a former student of mine so it's perhaps inevitable I'd say that, but as the previous links to his work show he's also a very talented chap and deserves the exposure/support IMO.
I admit I feel ambivalent about the whole 'kickstarter' thing (but then I feel ambivalent about 99/9% of everything on t'internet), but where else are young filmmakers going to get funding these days?

Just to clarify.....I didn't mean existing members, but people who sign up, post to publicise/self-publicise and then disappear forever. The forum and this thread particularly has always promoted the work of up and coming film-makers. And, yes, it does sound like Meadows fans will be interested in this

OK cool. I completely understand that crowd funding campaigns can be annoying.. But its not just about me making a short film and raising the money! The film is giving people from disadvantaged back grounds the opportunity to act within a film. My lead in particular was brought up in care, lived in hostels from 16 onwards and is Schizophrenic... but get him in front of a lens and he truly opens up and gives an amazing, realistic performance which I think that Meadows fans would appreciate, alongside the film content itself.

Go for it I say.
It's a bit quiet round here at the moment to grab many backers, but then you never know. Despite the lack of forum posting, there's still quite a load of people visting the forum each day.

I know it is quite on the site at the mo but I'm just thinking of different places I can plug the campaign, and its such a cracking forum thats deserves more attention.. also you do have 21,000 followers on twitter dave poss a tweet for such a worthy project!! I'm quite open to bribery with a few cheeky pints of ale and a bag of pork scratchings..lol
