STARCROSS is a story of doomed love in the 21st Century.

When CONOR meets HOLLIE, they fall for each other. They feel like they’ve known each other forever. But there’s a massive reason why their love can never happen..

Conor is late for his first Community Service meeting and all that’s left is litter picking or the care home. He’s not ‘cleaning up after no one’ so signs up for the care home. When he gets there, though, the first thing he has to do is clean up where someone’s been sick. He’s depressed; this job is shit. Then Conor sees Hollie. Maybe this place isn’t that bad after all. He’s immediately smitten but he’s not sure she feels the same. He takes a chance and waits for her after he’s finished for the day. He asks her out. He's stunned - she says yes!

Starcross is a low-budget short film written by Nottingham's Novelist & Screenwriter Nicola Monaghan, The film has a full cast of non-professional actors from disadvantaged backgrounds that have been selected from disadvantaged communities. The project is being made through labour of love by all those involved and all the money raised for the film is solely being spent on expenses and equipment hire. Once the film has finished circulating the festivals it can be used by outreach projects, youth groups and community based projects to raise awareness of Mental Health, Anti-Knife Crime and Anti-Social behaviour.
