I was wondering what we could do to ease the finacial burden on Gavin's wife Judy. I don't think that there is a wealth of funds. Perhaps if Shane could organise Gavin's tracks to be available through Bandcamp, the money would go direct to the family, Geelster

I have had this thought myself. For those who don't know of bandcamp this is it in a nutshell. You make a page that can be viewed via a search on the bandcamp website then you upload the tracks you want to. If people visit the page they can preview the track(s) then can purchase for a minimum fee decided by who uploaded the tracks or can pay more if they so desire. Bandcamp do not charge for setting up a page and between them and paypal they take around 20% of any monies paid for the track(s). I know this because I have created a page and posted tracks of my own up before. I know there must be some material lying about that genuine fans would love to listen to and pay for. The beauty is that around 80% ends up back with who it should do (eg Judy and the Family). I, for one, fully support this channel of getting unheard material to real fans whilst giving something back to those who deserve it without a third party record company taking their cut. I am interested in the thoughts of others on this matter.

BandCamp is a pretty cool idea. I'm always buying stuff on there. I can't recall the name of the record label that released the Beautiful Skeletons compilation, but maybe they have some control over the material at the moment?

The label of the vinyl version of "Beautiful Skeletons" was ClubAC30. The credits over the four vinyl sides relate to Side One published by Independiente (Sunhouse record label) then Sides Two to Four published by Chester Music Ltd trading as Campbell Connelly and Co. Then if you pull up the "Beautiful Skeletons" page on iTunes the publishing is accredited to Gavin Clark. Yes, this is entwined in a right snakes pit of publishing issues. My second thought is that this is for released material I don't know if there is anything in place for the unreleased stuff and how much a publishing deal covers this. Putting all this to one side there is a fanbase that genuinely wants something and a need at the other end. Plus bandcamp offers a way to put this out without the outlay of manufacturing the product (CD / Vinyl). For the purists it may not be the ideal solution but all sides gain and a tremendous legacy lives on. The management listed on the vinyl is John Brice he actually received a special thanks in the credits. If John is still dealing with these affairs I don't know but if anybody has any comments to add to this I would appreciate it.

I haven't heard of that site before but it sounds like a great idea. Obviously some of Gavs work is a bit tricky to sort clearance on, but I'm sure there are hundreds of unreleased tracks that could be made available.
I'm going to see Judy and the kids fairly soon hopefully to show them one of the new eps of TIE90 which features Gavs music pretty heavily, so i will see how they feel about doing something.
There is an album that will hopefully be released in the next 6-12 months that Gav was working on with two amazing musicians in Brighton that I personally think is the best thing Gavin has ever done. If there is any justice in the world, it will find the audience it deserves and the rest will follow.

Thanks for the reply Shane. The album in 6 - 12 months is possibly the Evangelist project I had heard of with Toydrum. Gavin appeared on their EP last year. Can this be confirmed? I can imagine the problems with who owns the rights to the unreleased material. It would be good to think some may be released. If, whoever owns the rights, was concerned about the outlay for product (CD / Vinyl) then Bandcamp is a viable option because it wouldn't actually cost a penny to upload and make available. I remain hopeful and would appreciate any further comments

Great idea Geelster and good news about the album, Shane.
