Short piece about BFI Player in this weekend's Guardian applauds the fact that Small Time is available for free (author suggests Netflix would never offer something so offbeat), but then gives the film a bit of a kicking for being "listless" and "meandering". A bit harsh for a film that's barely an hour long, but there you go. Nice colour publicity still of the gang looking "menacing" makes up for it, though

Nicely spotted. Just checked out the site and looks like you have to be a £4.99 a month subscriber to watch the 'free' stuff.
Wonder if the quality is better than the DVD... surely it won't have the skipped frames problem again! The film was shot on Digibeta I think which is standard definition, but even so, the DVD is probably not quite the best it could look.. although not far off.

Review complains about the aspect ratio ("a frustrating windowbox format"), which he suggests has just been transferred from "an earlier DVD release"...
