What is your favourite film/work by Shane Meadows?
I think mines 'Somers Town. I love the humour alongside the hard ship the characters face. I also have a soft spot for stories of unlikely friendships. I love a film called 'Central Station' for the unlikely friendships aspect, it's a Brazilian film. There is also an Italian is one called 'The Postman' or 'il postino' There is a French one that is good too call 'untouchable'

I saw Il Postino in the theater when I was in high school -- it was sweet. As for my favorite Shane, probably still Dead Man's Shoes, which was my first; such a powerful piece of work.

Yes 'Dead Mans Shoe's' is very good, a bit more gritty then 'Somers Town' Which I also like. I like how they didn't reveal his brother was dead and let you realise that as the film went on. I like Paddy Considine too.He was hilarious in 'A Room for Romeo Brass' when he went in to the clothes shop to chat Ladine up in that bloody shell suit. How were they every in fashion.

Somers Town is lovely! I like the friendship between the boys and the platonic "menage a trois" with the beautiful Elisa Lasowski - it made me think of some french films, like Bande a part or Les Quatre Cents Coups. Dead Man's Shoes is super good and it was the second Shane Meadows'film that I've seen. My favourite work is definitely This is England - both the movies and the series. If I have to choose, I think my heart goes with This is England 88 - I love Lol's story!

You're spot on with Somers Town. Dead Mans Shoes is great, Paddy Considine is brilliant. Did you see him in A Room for Romeo Brass, when he went into the shop in his shell suit to chat up Ladine. That has me in stitches every time I see it. I liked Lols story too, very powerful. She looks completely different in This is England to what she looks like in a room for Romeo Brass. I really liked Woodys character in This is England.
