For some reason that ain't coming through too clear. You can see another pic here. It's pretty gash really. The septics have got a history of trying to market imported films to as wider audience as possible via some piss-poor artwork redesigns. Look at this one for "science-fiction horror" Das Experiment: Anyone who's seen it will know that that's just a shoddy montage of different characters/bits in the film. Da fuck? By the way, if you look for Dead Man's Shoes on Google Images, you get some real treats: Yeah boy!

Das Experiment was great. The cover makes it look like something you might find in a charity shop bargain bin.

Weird cover. They've just made the office temp dress up in a boiler suit and baggy gas-mask.
Not sure if it's a totally bad move though... I mean that will attract some punters who would never usually go for this kind of film.... and you never know, after the initial disappointment of being mislead by the cover, some of them might actually like the film. The more 'discerning' punter would probably find out about such a film through reviews and articles rather than a dodgy cover, so I'm being optimistic and saying it could be a good move. Anyway, who thought that the original poster was misleading? I know I did.

It's a case of six of one and half a dozen of the other; in some cases the alternative artwork can outshine the native distributor's effort. I like the way this Spanish effort plays on the 'western' direction of the movie: Another example is the US flyer for Romeo Brass... ... and the New Zealand DVD cover: Both a lot better than the pants UK one, I thought Hmmm, what's the most misleading film promotion of all time then...? I reckon it has to be the trailers for Alien3: "In 1979, we discovered in space no one can hear you scream. In 1992, we will discover, on Earth, EVERYONE can hear you scream."Bit naughty, that one.

That is a terrible cover for DMS. They will do anything to sell something won't they.

I agree with miss donk i saw this over on the paddy considine sight and thought the film was far darker looking with the old russian world war 2 gas mask used in the DMS film. I didnt think the modern gas masked worked.

I actually didnt realise that distrobution companies could make up whatever cover they liked. That cover was bollocks. It makes it look like the film should sit on the horror shelf in the video shop, which will in turn put certain people off. Rubbish

Being a designer myself I think the "top" cover is awesome but it just isnt anything to do with our beloved DMS - Whats that Uber mask all about?!

I thought the original art work was wicked. Why replace something so classy with something so cheap?
