Hey
Just wanted to say that I went to see the premier of Dead Man's Shoes in Sydney last night. Absolutely the best film I've seen in ages. It was great that Shane got on the phone and did a Q&A after the film - good on ya Shane.
Strangely enough, being a Leicester boy originally, I felt a bit of a twinge of homesickness as a lot of the characters were quite like people I grew up with.
Top work Shane - be great to see you in Oz sometime....

great to hear its going down well in austrailia. And the phone Q&A thing sounds awesome! Shane's a good man for doing that. Glad you loved the film like the rest of us.

seems to ba long time to wait for a classic film, is it always like that with films that aren't multi million block busters?

Yeah it's weird. I presume it is beacuse it is much more difficult to get distributors for low-budget independent films?
I wonder when TIE will be out there.

Yeah two years is a bit crazy but better than never from my perspective. I think Oz is one of the only Countries outside the UK to have released all of my features to date and this is England looks to be following suit. I will try to combat my fear of spending a weekend in an aeroplane and come over with TIE.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the film and it was a pleasure to talk to you guys afterwards. Here's hoping TIE isn't quite so far away as DMS was.

I think the phone interview clips are taken from an Australian radio show interview that I recall someone pointing out quite a while ago.

I must have missed this thread in October when it started. I haven't seen Dead Man's Shoes yet because I've been hanging out to see it on the big screen before ordering the DVD, but I have never seen it on the cinema listings up here in Brisbane. I'll be right pissed off if I missed it! Anyone know if it was shown here? Do you know Shane? Will This Is England make it to Brissie?
