Thanks for doing this. It's interesting. A visit to Matlock was mentioned in the Get Together thread. If anybody is interested let me know. We could maybe organise for next year or something when the weather picks up.

Thribb and Matlocklad why don't you set up a tourist company or something where you sell holidays to the locations that you find. It could really catch on with film fans, the Matlock one could be a weekend or so, etc, etc. You never know it could catch on. Would just have to find local accommodation etc and get a minivan to drive everyone around.

We did a little detective work for the filming locations used in Dead man's Shoes, Motson's Farm, plus the old farm buildings and land belongs to the Spencer and Wells family. We spoke to Mr and Mrs Spencer about the old farm and they were happy to chat away about the filming which took place. Mr Spencer recalls he had breakfast with the filming crew at the old farm and he enjoyed the chats? My gut feeling told me he was telling the truth. He also mentioned its private property but gave us permission to take some video footage and photos. We visited the old farm and it's out buildings and the pallets that Paddy's Charactor sat on are still there (or there are two pallets in the corner)
We spent a few hours up on the housing estate; it was funny how all the residents were proud that the film had taken place on the estate. I asked a few questions and people would stop and talk about it. One guy at the Estate club, was more than happy to buy me a drink and stop playing pool and talk about the filming, he was slightly mythed that he did not have an extra's part in the film, as the club was closed for a couple of days. He also mentioned the camper vans of the crew members got stuck and the crew asked the locals to pull and push them out. How true that was I don't know, but the guy smelt of alcohol rather too much, he turned out to be a harmless soul.
Riber Castle, I found some photos of how it used to be the other day and that’s when I watched Dead Man’s Shoes. Funny how things change for the worst and Riber looks worse for wear. However the atmosphere was truly fantastic, I felt a kindred feeling with it and funny I knew where everything was located in the castle, I had a psychic experience if you want to call it that, what a hive of energy the castle still holds.
I will update my website as soon as I can, with photos, video's and stills from the film.
Thanks to MatlocKlad and Thribb, for posting on here, we found all the filming locations except for 4 scenic views of Derbyshire.
